Some sad news for the Open-wheel racing world….

I regret to inform you all that former IndyCar racer and world record speed holder, Gil De Ferran, has sadly passed away in an accident racing with his son….

De Ferran was a three-time Open-Wheel racing champion. Winning two championships in CART and one in the Indy Racing League. He was also the winner of the 2003 Indianapolis 500, as well as holding a record of the world’s fastest lap on an oval track. A speed record of 241 miles an hour.

Gil De Ferran was 56 years old.

My sincere condolences to his friends, family, and fans….

Well…. Haven’t made a journal in while….. but here it is…. My 7th anniversary when I made my Deviantart page…..

Since 2010, I had been looking at pictures on this site and was itching to join…. On December 14th, 2014…. I joined…. Met a lot of people and made a lot of friends on this site over the years….. some i still talk to on a regular basis….. But man have times changed…. Things are different now…. I haven’t posted anything in a while….

Things in life have really gotten in the way… I just got my driver’s license a few weeks ago… and soon I’m going to need to hold down at least a part-time job…. I don’t have a set schedule being over here yet…. But I will say… my days here on DA are not over yet….

Hope to continue to post here from time to time. Thanks for reading.

I... am in shock. Michael McDowell.... driving for Front Row Motorsports... a Mid-tier team...... a VERY underdog driver..... WON the Daytona 500.......

The FIRST win of his ENTIRE 13 year long career in his 358th NASCAR Cup Series start. What happened was Brad Keselowski in the 2 car... had a run on Joey Logano in the 22, his teammate, coming into Turns 3 and 4.... Logano tried to block, which caused a huge crash in those two corners... McDowell drove through the carnage unscathed.

And ended up being the leader when the caution came out freezing the field and ending the race (which is a NASCAR rule. If the caution comes out on the last lap. The race is over). He just happened to be lucky tonight.

A VERY unlikely winner tonight.

What happened tonight just DEFIED logic. That's all I can say at this present moment.

I honestly don't know how else to title this. There's something my following on here needs to know because I cannot keep this under the rug any longer. 2021, for me, is obviously not off to a good start.... Not even two weeks in and I'm already marred by more severe allergies and emotional problems. As well as an ever more deteriorating relationship with my father. Worst part right now is that there is not anything that I can do about the allergies. I fear they're only going to get worse over time. I have taken EVERY over the counter and prescription medicine I and my family can find to combat the problem and those have done very little. It's a problem I have been fighting ever since childhood. Not being able to have a clear head and having to sneeze so much so hard that it knocks my breath out is what hurts me the most right now It brings a lot of agonizing pain to my chest. I suffer from chronic allergies.... a problem that is NOT going to go away.... It's unfortunately something I will have to deal with for the rest of my life.... I am a very unhappy and miserable man and will probably stay that way for a very long time.
